Hannah's Here Starting June 15
You don't want to miss a chance to take classes with our very own Hannah Rosner!
If you haven't met Hannah yet, here's her story (or a short part of it - she's done a lot for someone so young!). Hannah began beading over 20 years ago. During that time she lived and taught beading in Pittsburg and Chicago primarily. While she was teaching in Pittsburg, a brand new beader showed up in one of Hannah's classes, looking for some bead therapy. Today, she credits Hannah with getting her started on her amazing beading career Hannah and Sherry Serafini remain good friends.
Skip ahead to 2005, when a bold knock came on the papered windows of the soon-to-be-opened 1 Stop Bead Shop. In walks this little bubble of energy and tells me shes a teacher and a designer and very excited about this new store. Her designs were awesome! It wasn't long before Hannah became a staple at 1 Stop, teaching both bead weaving and lampwork bead making and eventually working in the store as well.
We were sad when she met a guy and moved far away to Taos, NM a couple of years ago, but she has kept us from missing her too much by taking over our website content, blogging and social media. She has also kept in touch with her loyal student fan base by coming back twice a year to teach. She'll be here again in 11 days.
Since she's been gone, she really took my advice to heart (at least I'd like to think my advice had a little to do with it) and began designing and teaching full time. She is cranking out designs at the rate of several a month, and has been winning contests that she is entering. A couple of the most prestigeous ones included the lampwork category at the Bead & Button Show in 2009 and the Toho Emerging Artist Competition where she received 2nd place and will be recognized at this year's Toho gala held during the Bead & Button Show.
We are so pleased that Hannah considers herself one of us, and I am proud to be able to count her among my personal friends. Now's your opportunity to come and learn from our very own award winner designer friend - Hannah. Here for a 1 week engagement Jun 15-19, 2010.

Melissa Muir
My jewelry making journey began in 2004 as a creative outlet while working as a professional computer trainer in the Washington, DC area. My first formal jewelry making workshop was in the summer of 2005 where I was introduced to basic soldering techniques. From that point on, I was smitten!
While I enjoy creating unique jewelry items, my passion lies in teaching. My classes are filled with energy and an easy going atmosphere. My goal is to have my students walk out comfortable with new techniques and confident in their own jewelry making ability. Working as a professional computer trainer for 10 years I learned that there are many ways to teach, and each person learns differently. I strive to use that knowledge to benefit my students. When you take a class from me, I won't ever "leave you in the dust". I will do my very best to make sure you understand the concept and technique we are covering in that course. I look forward to expanding my teaching opportunities.
Melissa has taught classes all over Ohio and overseas, and has been published in a number of jewelry design magazine. She has completed hundreds of hours of metal design classes at the University of Akron. She is also the founder of the Ohio Jewelry and Metal Arts Guild.
